Community Health Worker Training

chw-checks-pregnant-womanWith the support of Johnson & Johnson, INMED has trained more than 5,300 Community Health Workers (CHW) in Brazil and Peru over the past decade, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to promote healthy pregnancies and to react quickly in an emergency. The results have been dramatic. For example, maternal deaths in the Ucayali region of Peru declined from 24 in 2014 to 18 in 2015. Only six deaths were reported as of the midpoint of 2016—none of which occurred in INMED’s target communities.

Read two moving stories of INMED CHWs:  Dina’s Story and Anita’s Story.
